A family business in Baildon since 1996

My name is Dan Jones, and I'm the owner of Hollins Hill Cars.

Hollins Hill Cars was founded in April 1996 by my dad, Colin Jones, and Ralph Sissons. Both had already spent decades in the motor industry before coming together to create the business. Ralph had been a driving force behind the success of JCT600, while Colin brought years of experience running his own bodyshop and car sales business.

Together, they built Hollins Hill Cars around a simple idea: honest, straightforward, no-nonsense car dealing, something that was a rarity at the time and still matters today.

Richard Palmer joined the team in 1997 and remains with us today. Over the years, he has helped generations of the same families find the right car for them. Richard is married with two daughters, and his fox red Labrador, Millie, is a regular at work.

I originally joined the business as the car washer in 1999 and, to this day, remain the worst car washer we've ever had.

Over the years, the business expanded steadily. What started in what is now our cleaning bay gradually grew into the site you see today in Baildon. Our current office was originally a curtain factory, and when the neighbouring tile shop later became available, we expanded again and created our showroom.

Ralph retired from the business in 2006.

After leaving the Army, I worked for both JCT600 and Clive Brook Volvo before returning to Hollins Hill Cars in 2014.

Johnny Parker joined the business in 2016. Having worked at a number of franchise main dealers over the years, Johnny brought with him a huge amount of experience in vehicle preparation and presentation.

In March 2022, my dad retired and I bought the business from him, continuing Hollins Hill Cars as a second-generation family business.

I'm married with three boys who regularly come to work to "help", while my Jack Russell, Stanley, is in the office most days.

Today, Hollins Hill Cars remains what it has always tried to be: a friendly, straightforward family-run used car dealership serving Baildon, Bradford and West Yorkshire, focused on properly prepared cars, honest advice and treating customers the right way.
